Extraction Process
A rigorous four-stage process that guarantees coal quality and minimises environmental impact at every phase of the operation.
Our 4-Stage Process
Every tonne of Carboing coal goes through a strict process before reaching the client.
Exploration & Geological Study
Everything begins with an exhaustive geological study of the deposits. Our engineers carry out survey drilling, sample analysis and 3D deposit modelling to determine quality, volume and exploitation feasibility before starting any operation.
- Survey drilling and sampling
- Preliminary petrographic and chemical analysis
- 3D coal deposit modelling
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
Responsible Extraction
Extraction is carried out using underground and open-cast mining techniques according to deposit conditions. We use state-of-the-art machinery and certified safety protocols to protect both our workers and the natural environment.
- Certified low-impact machinery
- OHSAS 18001 safety protocols
- Blast and vibration control
- Runoff and dust management
Processing & Classification
The extracted coal is transported to our processing plants where crushing, screening and granulometric classification are carried out. The process includes washing where required to reduce ash content, resulting in a uniform and consistent product.
- Crushing and granulometric screening
- Coal washing (wet process)
- Drying and homogenisation
- Classification according to ASTM standards
Quality Control & Dispatch
Before any dispatch, each batch goes through our certified laboratory where all parameters are verified: calorific value, moisture, ash, sulphur and granulometry. Only coal that 100% meets the agreed specifications leaves our facilities.
- Per-batch laboratory analysis
- Quality certificate with each shipment
- Third-party verification sampling
- Full origin-to-destination traceability
Environmental Responsibility
Coal extraction and environmental care are not opposites for Carboing. Our ISO 14001:2015 certification demonstrates our commitment to an environmental management system that goes beyond legal compliance.
- ISO 14001:2015 — Certified environmental management system
- Active reforestation: 500+ hectares recovered
- Closed-circuit mine wastewater treatment
- Dust and gas emission controls
- Restoration programme for affected areas
- Continuous monitoring of surrounding ecosystems
