From a vision to a legacy
Carboing was born in 1998 from the conviction that Colombia could offer the world an exceptional quality mineral coal, extracted responsibly and marketed with transparency. What started as a small operation in the department of Boyacá has today become one of the most recognized coal exporting companies in the country.
Over more than two decades we have served clients in over 15 countries, obtained the most demanding ISO certifications, and developed a mining model that respects both local communities and the environment.

Timeline
The milestones that have defined our journey.
Foundation
Carboing is founded by a group of Colombian engineers with extensive experience in geology and mining. The first mining concessions are opened in the department of Boyacá with an initial team of 12 people.
Operational Expansion
Expansion of operations to the department of Cesar, the most important coal-mining region of Colombia. Extraction capacity doubles and over 80 local workers are hired.
ISO Certifications
Carboing obtains ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) certifications, becoming one of the first mid-sized mining companies in Colombia to achieve both international standards.
International Export
The foreign trade division is consolidated and Carboing begins direct exports to Brazil, Chile and Turkey. Carboing's Colombian coal reaches European and Asian markets for the first time.
Responsible Energy Transition
Carboing launches its expanded environmental responsibility program: reforestation of 500 hectares, mine wastewater treatment, and partial transition of its machinery fleet to more efficient technologies.
Today: Leadership and Future
With over 25 years of history, Carboing solidifies its position as a quality benchmark in Colombian mining. We continue to invest in technology, human talent and sustainable practices to lead the industry in the coming decades.
